Your Eyebrows

Your Eyebrows

Eyebrows…where do they go? Thin, sparse, and missing. When I was young, I gave Groucho Marx a run for his money.

My mother had perfect eyebrows. She never needed to tweeze them but I got my dad’s eyebrows, they had a mind of their own. Even through high school I didn’t do anything and luckily Brooke Shields made the look popular.

But as with many things, fast forward 50 years and my eyebrows are a shadow of their former self. They are ok but I’m always trying serums or filling in the blank areas with my eyeshadow.

So, when I saw the fancy eyebrow pen, I was sure that was my answer!

I bought the Lavone dual sided pen from the Lavone store on Amazon, it was $12.99. It has the thinnest possible soft point on one end and 3 very thin points on the other. It’s like a super fine point marker tip.

Watching the demos online it looked so easy. The women brushed with perfect technique, drawing on perfect brows, 1-3 hairs at a time.

Well, let me tell you, it is a great idea but so far, I haven’t mastered it. As a matter of fact, it looked like I drew little lines with a marker.

At one point I got too much and tried to wipe it off. Sadly it smeared, turning my entire right brow black.

Trying it after morning coffee wasn’t a great idea either, you need steady hands. I’m going to continue practicing because I think with the correct technique it could be really helpful.

If you decide to try this, make sure to check in a close-up mirror after you’re done. I realized after thinking I had finally done a pretty good job, but upon close examination, it didn’t look like eyebrow hair.

It just looked like little uneven lines tapering down the outsides of my eyebrow, although I must say, from far away, it looked great!

Note to self: Stay 6 feet away from people when chatting after drawing on eyebrows.
