If you enjoy magic and nibbling on delicious Mediterranean food, visit the Wonderground at The Olive Restaurant in Henderson. Best described as a magic parlor show, it features large stage illusions, strolling magicians and close-up magic.
Internationally praised master magician Jeff McBride, best known for his Japanese-style illusions of constantly changing series of masks, founded the Wonderground in 2008. He runs a world renown magic school and has appeared world-wide and in major Las Vegas theaters.
McBride founded the show as a kind of Magic Castle meets Burning Man, where magicians can perform their existing and trial illusions in a non-pressure environment. Management and hosting are now done by Will Bradshaw, Jeff’s magical assistant. Bradshaw shared that McBride continues to appear in the productions when he is in town.
In 2025, Wonderground received the ”Best Magic Show for Magicians Award” voted by magicians. Each show is a unique mix of fan favorites. Bradshaw encourages performers to bring new never-before-seen material along their best acts keeping the productions fresh and exciting.
Wonderground thrives on novelty and spontaneity, typically featuring three distinct divisions to the evening. The first features larger presentations.
Recent performers included Japanese Headline magician Takamitsu Uchida manipulating cards as large as a human body, international touring superstar Xavier Mortimer who boasts more than 8 million subscribers to his revolutionary digital magic platforms, and Ehrlich Ocampo, headline magician from Awakening, who combines circus, magic and flo-art in a tour de force high energy acts.
Magicians of this caliber are followed by close-up magic when audience members sit around a small table watching sight of hand magicians make coins disappear into thin air. We recently watched Jeff McBride seemingly put a knife right through his hand.
The evening concludes with a late night stage extravaganza of high energy illusions as you enjoy the Mediterranean style food including savory falafels and lamb gyros. Wonderground, three magic shows with over 12 unique acts per night is presented monthly on the third Thursday at 7 p.m.
General admission is $20, couch seating $30 or $40 depending on location.
