We Will Dance Again

We Will Dance Again

I often receive emails from readers and the overwhelming majority are kind and supportive. On occasion, a bottom-feeding dweller decides to rear its ugly head.

The following is an email I received shortly after my article “Don’t Silence Jews” appeared in the February edition of The Vegas Voice.

“Wrong.  Kikes are perpetual vitcims (sic) who murder innocent Muslims and then cower behind the pants of the U.S.A.  Kikes are the problem in the Middle East.  Sad that Hitler did not have more time to terminate more kikes.  Now, go block my email address and continue being a whining worthless useless kike.”

My article was written because of a different reader’s complaint to the editor that my articles are the same “month after month.” Obviously what happened on October 7, 2023 has not made a dent in the weak minds of some antisemitic individuals.

The genius that acted like a child with his name-calling also wrote to another columnist at The Vegas Voice and stated, “Trump is following Adolf Hitler’s playbook and the village idiots who voted for him are marching in line completely oblivious to it. To the white and Hispanic males who helped elect him, is simply – hillbilly stupid.”

Such an ignorant antisemite; if he truly believes Trump is Hitler, shouldn’t he be more supportive – after all, no person is more synonymous with killing Jews than Hitler. This poor boy (and truly only a boy because real men don’t hide behind emails to attack senior citizens) is definitely confused. I have more guts than that boy and I did not block his email as he suggested.

On October 7, 2023 the music stopped. The Nova Music Festival was abruptly attacked by Hamas.

I recently visited the Nova Music Festival Exhibition in Miami, Florida. There I saw personal items left at the Festival as attendees were fleeing for their lives.

There were burned out autos where Festival goers were trying to flee the onslaught. I saw the portable toilets riddled with bullet holes where Hamas realized there would be victims hiding.

I watched many videos from survivors’ cell phones as they hid in the woods. One video was from a survivor who came to the site after Hamas left with their hostages described how young women were left naked, tied to trees. He cried as he cut them down and covered their remains.

I heard one of the barbarians calling home to brag about killing Jews with his own hands, boasting about the 10 he murdered and outrageously heard his parents’ praise for his deeds.

The Exhibition was akin to visiting a death camp and represented the atrocities at the Music Festival. Not addressed at the Exhibition, but very much a part of that infamous day were the hundreds (including women and children) tortured, killed and taken hostage from the kibbutzim.

One of the survivors spoke to us about her experience. She is still praying that her partner, Eliya Cohen, will be released. We heard her firsthand story of the attempts to escape, the grenades that were lobbed into their bunker and the loss of her nephew and his girlfriend as she lay under the corpses to try to escape death.

One of the survivors we spoke with is the grandson of Holocaust survivors. That’s when I realized, we are survivors. All of us.

So, if some are bored with my expressing concern for my fellow Jews in Israel or on U.S. college campuses, or if name calling makes them feel smart, it is meaningless to Jews.

I feel sorry to the rubbish that takes the time to send hate filled emails, but JEWS ARE NOT GOING AWAY. WE WILL DANCE AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN.
