Fans of Emerald Island Casino in Henderson continue to flock to their restaurant which always seems to be full with some wait times up to 90 minutes. But across the street the same owners have created great culinary flavors as well with Triple B Brooks Brothers Burgers.
Not only is the food good but wait times are much shorter.
They also have a great chef, Scott Pajak, who many may remember from Lagasse’s Stadium. He was at the helm for a decade serving up goodies like their signature banana brème pie.
At Triple B the emphasis is on American classics, and you will find the menu is full of them – three meals a day. Starters include Flatbreads with toppings like chicken, tomato and pesto plus meatball and marinara.
Beer Battered Onion Rings also start things off nicely. Homemade chili and red beans are enhanced with shredded pepper jack and cheddar cheeses plus diced red onions.
The burgers (and there a lot of them to choose from) are all made with 100% Angus beef patties that are hand-pressed and never frozen. Butter-toasted brioche buns are used, and each selection comes with a choice of French fries, tater tots or creamy coleslaw.
The Big Tex BBQ Bacon Burger includes applewood smoked pork, caramelized onions, Tillamook cheddar cheese, and smokey homemade BBQ sauce.
If you want another type of sandwich, you should consider the Rainbow Classic Reuben consisting of Irish corned beef on marble rye, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and 1000 Island dressing. Cod is the highlight of the Beer Battered Fish Sandwich that features seafood immersed in locally-crafted beer battered goodness. Fresh lemon caper tartar sauce is a fine accompaniment.
All of the entrees are reasonably priced, and you will leave full with satisfaction that you didn’t have to get a second mortgage for lunch or dinner. For instance, Chicken Alfredo is priced at $12.99 and includes diced all white meat chicken breast with penne pasta. House-made Meatloaf ($9.99) is accompanied with freshly mashed potatoes, brown gravy and sauteed seasonal vegetables.
I enjoy a great breakfast on Sundays, and they deliver with a list of omelets that will please everyone. I sampled the Cheese Lovers offering with a combination of American, cheddar and Swiss cheeses.
I like the eggs a little soft and they delivered my order just right. Along with the eggs is a choice of hash browns and toast.
In addition to the omelets are classics like New York Steak and Eggs (2) and all of the trimmings. By the way with beef prices as high as they are, the price ($9.99) is really a bargain. You can also get Biscuits and Gravy with homemade biscuits and country sausage gravy.
Pancake lovers will really enjoy buttermilk or chocolate chip selections for less than five bucks. Cinnamon Sugar French is another favorite.
Locally-owned dining establishments are bringing new life to Water Street. Triple B is part of the trend and they fit very well.
