Book Review of Eat Jewish

What does it mean to eat Jewish? The answer must involve the preparation of recipes passed down through generations. Although Eat Jewish by social media sensation Melinda Strauss contains more than 100 traditional and modern kosher recipes, it’s much more than a cookbook, as the author pairs recipes with key stories and insights into Jewish tradition, history and culture. With recipes for challah breads, dips, soups and holiday recipes, through this tome you can explore Jewish cooking in your home kitchen, no matter your skill level.

Examples include Green Tahini Sauce, Kishka Challah Dogs, Schmaltz Matzah Balls, Panko-Crusted Gefilte Fish, Dry-Rub Brisket, Israeli Chicken Sofrito, Strawberry Galette, Passover Bagels and Classic Potato Latkes. Each recipe is illustrated with a full-page color photo and a helpful index allows searching for key ingredients and sought out dishes.

The book is being released on Sept. 2. For more info and for links to purchase a copy, visit Eat Jewish.
