The Odyssey delivers everything you’d want from an epic movie of this size and scale and then some. Despite the trapping and budget of a blockbuster spectacular, the Odyssey is also an aching human film underneath all the swords, arrows and monsters.
As Odysseus, King of Ithaca, embarks on a perilous journey to return home after the Trojan War. Crossing the Mediterranean Sea with his fellow soldiers, they soon find themselves battling not only the elements but an array of deadly obstacles and mythical creatures along the way.
The Odyssey is a visually majestic, technically ground breaking cinematic epic that anchors its grand scale in primal human emotion. Directed by Christopher Nolan and led by Matt Damon as Odysseus. Ludwig Goransson provided the music score and Rotten Tomato gave the movie a 94% rating.
The film is deeply moving. I’II be surprised if I get to see better entertainment on the big screen the rest of the year.
The movie is definitely thrilling and it moves pretty fast.
I give it a 4 rating (out of 5) due to some gross scenes!
