A fun segway from Winter to Spring begins around this month. All the Winter clothing is being boxed or placed into another closet until the next season.
For a fashionista like myself, I find such joy in seeing all the new clothing that appears in the stores. This Spring season is showing some very fun “Easter Egg” colors in multiple hues such as Kelly Green, Buttercup Yellow, Soft Pink, and White.
Yes, White is considered a color and it pairs well with anything from the colors mentioned above to Black, Navy and this season’s Pantone color of Mocha Mousse.
On a recent trip to Seattle, my daughter and I made our way down to the UVillage Shopping Center in the University area. Walking into the village to shop was like heading into Alice in Wonderland’s Tea party.
The pastels were showing up in many of the stores, which is kind of funny as so many Pacific Northwesters are more drawn to staple colors of Black, Navy and Beige. Seeing all of these new colors in the stores warmed my heart that Spring is around the bend.
For the guys, the colors of Spring are popping in the men’s department as well! Who doesn’t love a soft pink golf shirt paired with some great shorts for the course.
Perhaps Kelly Green is the color of choice paired with some khaki slacks. It’s not a huge investment to make a few minor changes to your wardrobe and somehow everyone seems more cheery when they pair their basic navy and black with a pop of color on top.
The best part of this is most, if not all of these colors will carry nicely right into Summer. “It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.” – Charles Dickens.
