By now many readers can ascertain that I love Fashion & Travel. As I do with all of my travels, whether that be in the USA or traveling abroad, I thoroughly enjoy seeing what the styles are for men and women alike.
Recently, on a yearly “girls” trip we had the opportunity to visit both Tennessee and Texas. Having never been to Tennessee and only to Texas for business by way of the airport and hotel, this particular trip was a way to immerse myself in the southern culture.
I’ll start with the Southern hospitality and how kind the people were in Tennessee. Seeing the Grand Ole Opry was the highlight of our trip.
I’ve never seen so many cowboy hats and cowboy boots! One store in particular had hundreds of pairs of boots, in every color and stitching you can imagine.
Feeling the passion for this new found look, we were minutes away from purchasing our very own cowboy look. However, after careful consideration, I thought better of it as that would have entailed another piece of luggage, to accommodate getting back home.
The heat and humidity were deterrents for many outdoor activities. Wearing, however, the lightest of clothing, we made our way to one of the southern mansions, to learn about civil war history.
The second half of said trip involved a quick visit to Dallas and Waco. Neither place had been on my “bucket list” but as they say, “When in Rome.”
From my travels to this part of the country, I learned fashions for both men and women are centered around western wear, dresses and skirts paired with boots, in spite of the warm weather.
I guess that’s what makes America so great! “The South where Love, Family & Tradition are the sugar in our tea.”
