That’s Life
Life is not always a banquet. Life is not always easy. Life does not always make sense. At times, life is just plain difficult!
Although we might find ourselves wishing to be spared from the hard times, no one is exempt. Life happens!
Life is not consistent. Life is not predictable. Life is not guaranteed in any form. So what do we do with that?
When we are feeling trampled on by circumstances, do we simply give in and wallow in our defeat? I wish I knew the answer.
Just like you, I am challenged by so many things in this life. But I choose to do my best not to let it keep me down.
When life hits and difficulties appear to take over, I try to remind myself of this: Better days are coming!
Life is filled with highs and lows. Life is filled with mountaintop experiences and valley experiences. Life can also be a laugh a minute – and life can bring on unexpected tears.
It’s all part of life! Passing events are just that – passing. Sometimes moments that seem monumental are actually just passing meaningless moments.
In Scripture (Ecclesiastes 8), we are told, “There is something else meaningless that occurs on earth: the righteous who get what the wicked deserve, and the wicked who get what the righteous deserve. This too, I say, is meaningless.”
We often think that we don’t deserve the bad stuff. The wicked deserve that! Not me! But truly, life happens to all of us. The good, the bad and the indifferent.
The very next verse that follows in Ecclesiastes is this: “So I commend the enjoyment of life, because there is nothing better for a person under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany them in their toil all the days of life…”
Life is gonna keep happening. Even in the challenges, let’s choose JOY! Let’s choose LOVE! Let’s enjoy life, moment-by-moment as it comes to us knowing that as bad as parts of today may be, better days are coming! Remember: JOY! LOVE!
