Sweet Jymme

Sweet Jymme

Well, Jymme is her real  name, but you will remember her as Roberta Shore. For those of you who remember the popular TV show from the ‘60s “The Virginian”, you will definitely remember her as she starred as Betsy Garth.

She appeared in 70 episodes from 1962-1965. Her co-stars were Doug McClure, James Drury and Lee J. Cobb.

Some of the other TV shows she appeared in are The Bob Cummings Show, The Adventures of Dobie Gillis , Playhouse 90, Father Knows Best, and The Donna Reed Show to name a few. Not only that, but she sang and yodeled on The Lawrence Welk Show.

You might also remember her from the Disney movie The Shaggy Dog. Speaking of Disney, here’s another thing you might not know about: for those of you who are familiar with the Disney attraction It’s a Small World, she voiced the “yodeler ” on that!

Jymme left the business and retired at the age of 22  to get married and raise a family. In fact, she actually retired and returned to show business 3 times! She is happily married and is (really) retired other than attending various autograph events around the country.

She is the proud mother of two and lives in Utah. Jymme is always a fan favorite at these events with her sweet smile and pleasant disposition.

This photo was taken at a recent autograph show in Los Angeles and it was delightful to see her again as we knew each other from many previous events. We saw each other again recently at The Cherry Blossom Event in Missouri and it’s always fun for us to catch up.

Jymme (which she prefers to be called) is a gifted, talented actress, singer (and yodeler!) but more importantly, she is truly one of the sweetest people that I know.

I always count my lucky stars as I reflect on all the wonderful people I have been privileged to know.

Until next time remember, When the going gets tough, …let faith smooth the way.
