Summer With The Grandkids

Summer With The Grandkids

Nothing is better than watching (and spoiling) the grandchildren. And no better time to do so than the summer months. So in honor of all those Sun City residents “watching” the grandkids, I offer the following:

1. My mom once told me, “ I hope your kids turn out twice as bad as you!” She didn’t realize one day she’d be babysitting them.

2. Grandparents have a constitutional right to spoil their grandchildren.

3. Grandparents don’t babysit. They have playdates.

4. Grandparents don’t spoil their grandkids. They’re just very accommodating.

5. I don’t buy my children’s affection with gifts. That’s their grandparents’ job.

6. Parents may know a lot but grandparents know everything.

7. The best part of babysitting the grandchildren is giving them back.

8. A grandparent is a babysitter who watches the kids instead of the television.

9. An hour with your grandchildren can make you feel young again. Anything longer than that and you start to age quickly.

10. And… if I had known how wonderful it would be to have grandchildren, I’d have had them first!
