One of my favorite fashion things to do is peruse the men’s fashion rounders in the stores to see what new looks will make their way into closets of fashion forward men. It’s always fun to see the look on a new acquaintance’s face when they find out that not only do I help women with the latest trends; I also help many male clients as well.
Recently, I had a call from a new client (male) who wanted to update his current wardrobe and tasked me with finding new slacks, jackets, shirts and even shoes.
So now the fun was about to begin, finding out if said client was willing to take some fashion risks to bring his wardrobe into a more updated, yet functional look. Always a challenge.
Learning that my new attorney client no longer went into court, but rather did most all of his cases via online court proceedings was a huge eye opener. Wow, where have I been the past few years?
I’m thinking suits like Perry Mason wore in the day or even one of my favorite shows “Suits” where all the attorneys are dressed in Brioni from head to toe. You may be wondering if this was my first male client and more to the point, my first time working with an attorney, and the answer is no.
Digging a little deeper I discovered that collared shirts sans a tie, jackets and slacks were a perfect fit for this client.
The end result was a new Gray and Navy Jacket, 4 collared shirts, and pants, in Khaki, Navy, Golden Rust and Black. Mixing and matching the Gray jacket with Black and Navy with Khaki as well as taking one of the patterned shirts paired with the Golden Rust pants and Navy jacket to create 8 new outfits for day or evening.
A very happy client, a few new lessons learned for this seasoned consultant that not all attorneys are wearing the same things, and last but not least, the joy of changing people’s looks one outfit at a time.
