Stop,  Breathe,  Listen

Stop, Breathe, Listen

Isn’t it hard to believe that we are approaching the holiday season again? Time is moving too quickly!

Is your world crazy as you approach the holidays? What are you going to do for yourself in this season to rebuke the craziness and protect your soul?

Is your “to-do list” growing, causing an increased heart rate and stress? What are you going to do for yourself to make this holiday season be something special and meaningful for you?

Is there a pit in your stomach as the days quickly move forward toward the holidays – causing nervous feelings that you might not be ready? What are you going to do for yourself to bring calm and peace for yourself this season?

Think about it. If you celebrate Christmas, you are celebrating a birth that happened on a quiet night – a birth that was supposed to bring Peace on Earth!

If you celebrate Hanukkah, you are celebrating a miracle where one day’s worth of oil lasted for 8 days – keeping the light shining!

If you celebrate Kwanzaa, you are taking 7 days to celebrate Seven Principles – Unity, Self-Determination, Collective Work and Responsibility, Cooperative Economics, Purpose, Creativity and Faith.

Do any of these holidays appear to be instituted to bring stress into your life?

I intentionally asked 3 times – What are you doing for yourself in this season? Stress and tension is not good for any of us. But a connection to any or all of the meanings of these holidays could be good for our individual health.

Stop. Breathe. Listen. I believe it would be good for all of us if we were to take quiet time each day for the rest of this month, focusing on the meanings of the holidays at hand.

Stop. Breathe. Listen. Maybe light a candle or quietly focus on a decoration that brings you peace or joy! You deserve some peace and joy in a season that often brings stress and nervousness.

Stop. Breathe. Listen. I hope that December of 2025 brings you some calm in a world that is anything but.
