Summer is here, and so is drier skin.
Staying moisturized in the summer really makes a difference for keeping our older skin looking better, helps with dryness, wrinkles and that crepey look.
I recently found a new long-lasting lotion that has been amazing for me! It’s called Shea Better 25-Hour Moisture Body Lotion. The price was under $10 for 16 ounces. It is so thick that at the end of the bottle, it is hard to get the rest out.
It comes in 9 scents. I first tried the vanilla cashmere and I loved it. It left my skin feeling so soft.
Even after it absorbed, my skin was still soft, especially my hands. Wearing it, several people commented that I smelled really good, which was nice, but it was because I smelled like a sugar cookie.
Suggestions say you can layer your own perfume over the scent, but you’d have to be careful, as the scent is pretty strong and sweet.
I liked the lotion so much that I decided to try the pink champagne scent. It was not a sweet smell, more perfuming and very nice but still strong. They do have a non-scented for those preferring not to interfere with their own perfume scent.
My favorite way to use this is for my hands. As I’ve shared before, I’m not a fan of my hands, they weren’t even pretty in my younger years. However, add thin crepey skin to not pretty hands and they could use some help.
At bedtime I apply this liberally as the last thing before bed. I rub it in vigorously, like I’m massaging my hands, for at least a minute. .
I do it like I’m washing my hands, so I get it everywhere. I even do my fingers individually including my cuticles.
In the morning they are still soft and hydrated. Of course you can do this with your favorite hand lotion too. I think the 24-hour moisture really makes a nice difference overnight.
Reapplying this throughout the day has made a major difference in keeping my skin looking more hydrated, plumper and a bit more youthful. Hands can be very telling so a little lotion goes a long way.
