Showgirls Softball Challenge

Showgirls Softball Challenge

The showgirls met at a bar after the last performance of the night, sharing a bottle of wine and a plan to challenge the male dancers to a softball game. Kelly’s boyfriend owned a bar with a ballfield behind it.

The boys were eager to accept, not knowing we had a secret to help us win.

The game was on. Most of the players arrived in shorts, except Eric. He showed up in full showgirl makeup, complete with a feathered headdress and a silver bikini.

Handsome Ray wore a sequined western shirt, Levi’s, and snakeskin leather boots.

When the rules were announced, our secret was out. The men had a choice: after hitting the ball, they could either wear the red high heels to run to first base or ride the burro!

The game began with the men going to bat first. Most of the guys were afraid of the burro, so they wore high heels to first base.

Ray jumped on Clancy, the burro. which took off running. He yelled, “Help! Help!” His boots were almost touching the ground! Joey came to his rescue, while the crowd roared with laughter.

When the girls came up to bat, Judy hit the ball, but Fred caught it. Jan had the same result.

I nervously chose a bat, never having played before. I surprisingly hit the ball, almost out of the park.

It was shocking! I stood there watching the ball soar. The crowd shouted, “Run, Marlene, run!”

I ran straight ahead to second base. The crowd was pointing to first base and yelling and laughing.

“Go to first.” I ran to first base, as they kept screaming and hollering with laughter. In my mind, since I knew I had already been on second, I ran straight from 1st to 3rd base and home!

The umpire was booed when he called me, “out!” I was kicked off the team!

Needless to say. The men won. We bought a round of drinks for the winners and it didn’t take long for the teasing to begin.
