As the summer heat begins to wane and the children don their backpacks, the spirit of education is in the air. September’s “Back to School” season is a time of renewal and fresh starts, but it also offers a unique opportunity to explore a different kind of journey: the journey into our past through genealogy.
The Las Vegas Valley: A perfect place for genealogical exploration. There a number of genealogical societies and libraries that ramp up their programming in the fall.
Workshops, seminars, and classes on genealogy become more available, providing valuable resources and networking opportunities for both beginners and seasoned researchers.
For example, The Clark County Nevada Genealogical Society (CCNGS) has a variety of classes and programs planned this Fall:

Additionally, other genealogy groups in the Las Vegas Valley offer a variety of classes and programs. Check the following websites for their offerings: NV-AAGS.com, Nevada African American Genealogy Society; and JGSSN.org, the Jewish Genealogy Society of Southern Nevada.
