As we age, looking good is as much about good grooming as it is anything else. We are often met with new challenges, like hair, how to keep it and how to get rid of it.
If you don’t start with basic grooming, all the make-up in the world may not help.
While make-up can sound glamorous, grooming tools usually don’t, but they are equally as important. Take nose hair trimmers for example.
Nose hair trimmers are important because hair coming out of someone’s nostrils isn’t very attractive. Figuring out the best way to get rid of it can be challenging.
First you must know it’s there. Good lighting and a countertop mirror work well to see it and to aid during removal.
Next, how to get rid of it. Most important, don’t pluck it out with tweezers, that can lead to an infection.
Trimming with small scissors is one option. If you choose this method, make sure they have the safety rounded edge and (most importantly) don’t go too deep.
My choice – is the regular nose trimmer. It is round, you squeeze it, and it rotates in a circle. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done.
I recently researched for nose hair removal to see if I was missing new options. And I found some.
The first was electric. My daughter has one and loves it.
I just really don’t want anything else I need to charge or plug in. The plus about the electric one however is it can also be used on wild ear hair, usually more needed for men.
The second was nose wax. It has many high reviews and people seem to love it but, no thanks! This was on my no list for many reasons.
One, I’d be concerned about the residual wax stuck in my nose. I’ve tried face wax and always ended up sticky. Second, I’d be concerned it could also take some skin with it, allowing potential infection which is a concern.
Nose hair does have a purpose as it acts as a filter, but you still don’t want it hanging out of your nostrils.
