Reagan
“Reagan” is a movie about the childhood, Hollywood actor, and the 40th president of the United States – Ronald Reagan.
Howard Klausner and Jonas McCord were the writers, Mark Joseph the producer, with director Sean McNamara compiled this PG-13, 2 hour, 21 minute biography. Fans of Reagan will like it, fans of history, not so much.
This movie “Reagan” was set against the backdrop of the Cold War. The movie [Reagan] follows Ronald Reagan’s life from childhood in Dixon, Illinois to his acting career in Hollywood, and eventually to the presidency and the world stage.
Dennis Quaid did an excellent job in portraying Reagan. He said, “For Baby Boomers like me, the movie is not political, it’s not ideological in any sense, it’s American!”
Critics had this to say: From the Wall Street Journal: It should be noted that, along with all its charges, this richly compelling series gives Reagan his due for achievements.”
Rotten Tomatoes: “The movie is very divisive with a big gap between critics and audience’s responses. The movie [Reagan] falls between biopic and faith-based drama although it is based on the 2006 book, The Crusader: Ronald Reagan and the fall of Communism by Paul Kengor.”
Dennis Quaid’s supporting actors are Jon Voight and Penelope Ann Miller. Both are excellent in their roles in the movie [Reagan].
This movie [Reagan] adds actual photos of the Reagans at the conclusion and leaves you with a smile on your face. I give it 5 stars. Take the time to bring back memories and go see the movie.
