Pond’s Cold Cream

Pond’s Cold Cream

For as far back as I can remember, my mother always had a jar of Pond’s Cold Cream on her dressing table. Over the years I have used it but as I tend to do, I’m always looking for some new miracle in a jar.

Recently, my crepey arm skin seems to be making itself known. I tried several products designed for crepey skin.

Although I try to be budget conscious, I did splurge on one product because the celebrity that endorsed it was so convincing. While the cream worked great, I found it did what most heavy creams do, it moisturized.

Of course, dry, crepey, skin looks better hydrated but, that cream didn’t do anything special. I also tried a cheaper crepey skin cream, with the same result.

Circling back to my mention of Pond’s, as I was walking through the grocery store, sitting there on the bottom shelf was a lone jar of Pond’s Dry Skin Cream Facial Moisturizer. 10.1 oz for $5.50.

It was like finding an old friend I hadn’t thought about in a while.

When I got home and opened it up, the smell reminded me of my childhood. I always liked the smell but as I read current reviews some people seem to think it’s too strong.

But now to the test: How would it work on my crepey arms? Well, I liked it! A little goes a long way and absorbs well. It’s a little shine initially, likely because of the mineral oil but it’s just as I remembered.

Hint: Before using it for crepey skin areas, exfoliate gently first. This helps it absorb faster, and your skin will look smoother.

At bedtime, after washing my face, I massage some on my face, neck, and chest. My skin has been so dry lately that it just soaks in. It’s also great to use under my eyes prior to putting on my concealer, it goes on so nicely.

The price is so reasonable, and it has multiple uses, this is a win-win!
