![]() By: Rana Goodman As anyone who has lived in Las Vegas for a long time, or has looked into t he history of our wonderful city knows, Las Vegas High School (LVHS) was the first to rise from the desert floor. LVHS has the distinction of graduating many well know politicians, entertainers, casino owners and families of pioneer families. Even this writer, an immigrant from the UK walked those halls back in the day and loved it. Each year, thanks to a dedicated group in the LVHS Alumni Association, an All Class Reunion is held bringing many old friends back together to share memories and up-date each other on their lives. This reunion started out at Sam's Town, Yes, Sam Boyd is an alumni too. However over the years the event attendees has grown in number so much that the last few years have been held at the Orleans, as it will again this year. What follows are the details so far if you would like to mark your date book. The annual Wildcat Reunion will be on Saturday, September 7 in the Mardi Ball Ballroom at The Orleans Hotel and Casino. Doors will open at 5 p.m. The cost will be approximately $45 in advance or $50 at the door (the committee is checking to see if credit cards can be accepted, if so, they may need to charge an additional $2.).
This year the event will be honoring the 20th anniversary of the new campus and history of LVHS. Flyers will be sent out the first week of July to all registered alumni members. For more details, or to be sure alumni are on our mailing list, contact Patty Haack at (702) 876-6660 or e-mail to lvowl@aol.com. More information can also be found on the alumni website: lvhsaa.com.
