I thought I’d write this month about one of my dearest friends.
Her name is Mimi Gibson and while the name might not ring an immediate bell, all you have to do is “Google” her and you will be amazed at all of her credits. She was one of the most adorable and gifted child actresses there ever was.
Mimi has worked with some of the most famous stars ever, such as in “The Wings of Eagles”
where she played the daughter of John Wayne and will also be remembered as the daughter of Cary Grant in the movie “House Boat” which also starred Sophia Loren.
She was in “The Ten Commandments” directed by Cecil B. De Mille as well as co-starred with Audrey Hepburn and Shirley MacLaine in “The Children’s Hour.”
There were also TV shows such as “Leave It To Beaver”, “Playhouse 90”, “Alfred Hitchcock Presents” and more. On top of that, she authored a book (available on Amazon) called “Working Kid” which is her autobiography.
For those of you who are Horror fans, you will remember her from the movie “The Monster That Challenged The World” and as for Disney fans, you will be surprised to know she was the voice of the little dog “Lucky” in the animated film “101 Dalmatians.”
The list of her accomplishments goes on and on..
This coming March 28th , she is producing an autograph show which will be held at The Gold Coast Hotel in Las Vegas. See the next page.
It’s called “Mimi Gibson Present’s The Golden Age Hollywood Child Star Autograph Show. The list of child stars who will be there is amazing and I am thrilled to have been invited to participate as well.
Mimi is hoping for a good turn out and is promising a wonderful time for all and a chance to meet some of your favorite child stars in person. We will also have more information in upcoming Vegas Voice editions.
I’m so happy that Mimi moved here in 2024 and we were able to pick up right where we left off as children and have become best friends. Once you meet her, you too will love her!
Until next time, remember: Don’t let yesterday take up too much of today.
