This is the eighth “Mission” and probably the last appearance of Tom Cruise, 62, as Ethan Hunt.
People Magazine claimed: “Tom Cruise will literally risk his life for the audience.” The star talked about his love for stunts as he takes on more risky business in this film.
Cruise said the jaw dropping action, the collaborative storytelling, the shared enthusiasm is what he lives for. Asked if he had awe-inspiring moments during his action filming he answered “always” “I’m even more excited about it, I love making movies. It’s not what I do. It’s who I am.”
Paramount Pictures made this a PG-13 film with Christopher McQuarrie as director. The genre states, action, adventure, thriller. The cast includes; Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Esai Morales, and Simon Pegg.
Basically, Agent Ethan Hunt is trying to catch up with Gabriel, the sinister villain who wants to gain control of the Entity; a projection of artificial intelligence and everything it’s capable of – like initiating global nuclear war.
The airplane scenes are sensational. You catch yourself saying “How did he do that”? Looks impossible!” My rating: Cruise is a 5 , the movie a 4.
