Kelly Clinton-Holmes brings energy, talent, and vibe to her show at the Italian American Club on two Wednesday evenings per month at 7:30 p.m.
The show title should include “variety” in the title. The 90 minute entertainment production showcases Kelly’s talent as a singer, funny comedian, quick-witted hostess, and a pro at short humorous routines.
Kelly begins with a high energy song. Her black sequined dress was the perfect choice for her opening number, the Pointer Sisters hit “I’m So Excited.” And you’ll be excited to see a few more sparkling wardrobe changes during the evening.
It’s clear that Kelly is a great admirer of Carol Burnett. Like Carol, she ventures into the audience to chat and sing with many of them. And when her popular performer and spouse Clint Holmes is there, guests get the added bonus of enjoying his vocal talents as well.
Kelly joins forces with her rotating guest performers who sing solo and with her. Katie Monroe and Kelly delighted the audience with “When You’re Smiling.”
Sketches or shenanigans are an integral part of her shows. We enjoyed a hilarious bit with Kelly as a nutty professor explaining various parts of the human anatomy.
Another time, with the help of local favorite performers Zowie Bowie and Deanna, Kelly staged her rendition of the Taylor Swift – Travis Kelly wedding. Great entertainment.
In a previous show, Kelly and Deanna performed an impromptu rendition of Fame. Kelly is backed by a three piece band under the able direction of Mike Clark.
Watching her show at the Italian American Club is only part of the entertainment. Audience members in the showroom can order appetizers and desserts from a special menu offering calamari and meatballs among other delicious favorites.
Many enjoy dinner and drinks in the main restaurant before or after the show. Often, Kelly’s guests move over to the adjacent restaurant lounge and sing a few songs.
