Good Food Drinks and More: BLVD Grille

It wasn’t too long ago that quality dining was hard to find on Water Street in Henderson. But that has changed and now visitors can enjoy a variety of spots. One of them is BLVD Grille which is a combination of a bar, video casino and a place for an enjoyable meal in the dining room.

The menu is large and sometimes that can be a burden for some establishments. But here not only is the food tasty but the service is spot on as well. The starters list includes appetizers from many parts of the world. For instance, seared beef takaki features spice ribbed meat that is seared rare with chili ponzu, crispy shallots, scallions and toasted sesame seeds.

Brussels sprouts are combined with bacon, red onions and pecans. Street corn nachos are enhanced with pepper cheese sauce, black beans, pickled onions, Cotija cheese and cilantro. Shrimp are represented with an Asian twist that includes lime drizzle, pepper relish, slaw and scallions.

The lunch/dinner menu has an eclectic blend of main courses like Shepards pie made with ground beef, carrots, peas, mushrooms, gravy and a generous portion of Yukon gold mashed potatoes. Pasta fans will want to order the pappardelle bolognese with large noodles sitting in tomato cream sauce, parmesan and basil.

Beer-battered cod is the star of a fish and chips entrée that includes coleslaw. Pork fans will want to chow down on a chile-rubbed specimen that is twelve ounces of goodness with mashed spuds and asparagus that fills up the rest of the plate.

For seafood, herb-crusted salmon fits the bill as it is accompanied with potato hash plus bell peppers and red onions. Lemon pesto sauce gives the dish a citrus finish.

They have an enticing list of steaks like a 10-ounce center cut sirloin. A boneless ribeye plus a 6-ounce petite filet are other choices. If you wish to enhance the experience choose toppings that include chimichurri, sauteed mushrooms and creamy  horseradish.

If you opt for a sandwich sink your teeth into a hot honey chicken pick with coleslaw and pickle. A steakhouse burger features American cheese, veggies and bistro sauce.

You can top off the meal with a sweet ending like house-made peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce and powdered sugar. Caramel flan is served with fresh mint.

Brunch is served on the weekends from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Leading the list is eggs benedict with an English muffin, Canadian bacon, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce that is delivered with breakfast potatoes.

Cinnamon apple pancakes have a pecan streusel and vanilla glaze. Hot honey chicken biscuits and gravy will fill you up.

Wednesdays are a good time to visit as they feature a select number of wines at 50% off. Nobilo Sauvignon Blanc and Rickshaw Chardonnay are just two of the vintages available. Happy hour is in session weekdays from opening until 6:00PM.
