For My Nails

For My Nails

I’m so excited to share a new product I found by accident, but out of necessity.

As I have mentioned before, I work outside in the yard. I’d like to call it gardening, as that sounds so much nicer, but my work is more the equivalent of full-scale, yard work, digging stumps, trimming palms, cutting trees.

That’s not how it started, but the yard guys let things get way overgrown, so I took it upon myself to fix it. A bit of a challenge.

While I think the yard looks better than it has in a very long time, my nails took a major hit! Unfortunately, wearing gloves didn’t stop the terrible wear and tear on my nails and hands.

My nails had become dry, peeling, chipped and brittle. They also had some small ridges and would break off at the ends.

Using regular oils didn’t seem to do much, so I went looking for help and found some!

The product is called “Hard as Hoof” nail strengthening cream by Onyx. It comes in a few scents. I got the cherry almond scent, and while many people complain about the strong scent, the reviews for how well the product works were really high.

I got mine for $8.99 from the company store on Amazon. It’s a small jar, but a little goes a long way. It has a 4.4 review on Amazon.

The directions are easy: Clean and dry nails, then rub it in. I used it heavily initially, 3 times a day, on top, including the cuticle and under the nail tip as well.

Within a few days, I noticed a big difference in my nails. Even though I was not using polish during this time, my nails looked healthy.

My nails started growing without breaking again. I now use it maybe once a week just to maintain. This may be worth a try if your nails need a little boost. As with all products, do a patch test first to make sure you aren’t allergic.
