Facelift Concerns

Facelift Concerns

We live in a time with so many options for quick fixes to look younger. The old days of just getting a facelift are long gone.

We have lots of choices; fillers, lasers, threads, Botox, implants and radio frequency devices, just to name a few. Many of these are cheaper, quicker fixes, in comparison to a facelift.

Doing small, less invasive, beauty treatments as we age seems to make sense. However, I recently watched a video by Dr. Kassir, a top New York plastic surgeon, regarding the long-term effects of many of these options.

If you’re considering a deep plane facelift in the future, there are important things to know. Deep plane facelifts are one of Dr. Kassir’s specialties.

The patients he showcases on his Instagram channel look like he has performed true magic on them. His work looks amazing, but I think the information he shares is even more important.

If you’re considering a deep plane facelift, look up his video for more details on what issues the various procedures can cause. Here are the 3 top things he suggests “not” doing prior to surgery.

  1. No fillers (like Radiesse) as they stick and make the procedure harder.
  2. No use of energy devices. They can make the skin looser and cause fibrosis underneath the skin.
  3. No PDO threads as they often have to remove them during surgery which makes the surgery more challenging.

If you have done these things however, they can be worked around in surgery. But the best outcome is to avoid them.

He also shared that some fillers don’t dissolve and can stay in your system and face for up to 20 years. Before doing fillers make sure and really educate yourself to know what you want and what you are getting.

Many of the spas will tell you what they have been told but after listening to the full Dr. Kassir video on his YouTube channel, it sounds like there are things only a surgeon would know having seen it during surgery.

Before doing any cosmetic procedure, research, research, research.
