Don’t Stop!

Don’t Stop!

Saw this on a T-shirt and loved it! “You Don’t Stop Dancing When You Get Old, You Get Old When You Stop Dancing!” Yep. that’s me for sure! I intend to keep on dancing until I can’t physically!

As I approach my 80th birthday, I’m positive that I’ll be continuing my dance teaching, my aerobic/Zumba classes and ushering at The Smith Center. It all keeps me healthy and very active. It’s been proven that keeping active helps with longevity of life.

I just had one eye cataract surgery done in August and will have the other one by the time this goes to press. While prepping me for the cataract surgery, I was asked what do I do?

Am I retired?

Heck No!  I don’t intend to retire – just keep on going. When I mentioned that I teach Zumba, dance and usher, the nurses asked what my secret was. I told them to “just keep on moving!”

In my “age-qualified community there are many very active seniors and others sedentary.  Of course, the sedentary have multiple health problems and the active ones keep on going, going, going.

As I was forced to take it easy while recuperating from cataracts, I thought about my blessings. I am very grateful for what I have – a roof over my head, food on the table, two adorable fur babies, pretty good health, great jobs and more importantly, friends and family.

My special friends were more than willing to help me out with rides and checking up on me. As they correctly stated, I would do the same for them!

With the “ber” months now here and the end of 2024 sooner than we want, be grateful for whatever you have, not for what you don’t have.

POSITIVE ATTITUDE AND HAPPY HEALTH TO ALL!
