Donny Osmond is the real deal. The 67 year old member of the famous Osmond family skillfully shares glimpses of his sixty plus years of performing in his energy-filled show at Harrah’s on the Las Vegas strip.
Not many entertainers can regularly fill a 700 seat theater after so much time, but clearly the audience continues to love him. He is the center of the 90 minute production along with eight talented dancers and five musicians backing him up.
“Let’s get this show started” he says and does he ever! Energy fills the room as he sings, dances, and shares stories from his youngest days to the present.
The choreography is top notch, the dancers are as good as any I’ve seen, and the musicians are amazing. Donny does a request segment and the musicians are able to back him on every song the audience members ask for from the long list of his recordings projected on huge screens on either side of the stage.
Donny ventures into the audience as he sings the hits that made him an enduring star. And often, thanks to the wonders of modern technology, he sings along with his younger selves shown on the screens.
You’re sure to enjoy some original footage of five year old Donny on the Andy Williams show. His mega hit “Puppy Love” is reimagined with AI to recreate and celebrate the 1972 hit. Another highlight is his duet with a 3D AI version of his 14 year old self live on stage.
You can enjoy the tiny kid, the 1982 bearded performer and the Masked Singer. A fan favorite segment is “Auto-rap-ography” – a rap song accompanied by milestone photos and videos from his impressive career.
While the majority of the audience looked to be of Social Security age, we saw high school kids and even elementary students with Donny shirts. Donny Osmond is a true showman. See him on select dates at Harrah’s.
