My favorite is the Chicken Cheese Steak that is grilled with small meat bites. You can add on other ingredients, but I like it plain except for a liberal dose of mustard when I get home.
They are also pros at preparing the Capastrami with hot pastrami, Swiss cheese, Russian dressing and coleslaw. The Cole Turkey has turkey, provolone, cheese, dressing, Cole slaw and mayo. American Wagyu Roast Beef is a new option. Not only are their signature sandwiches delicious, but subs take up a large part of the menu as well. The Italian offering is chock full of deli meats: Genoa salami, capicola and prosciutto. Homemade Tuna is made with an in-house recipe. Vegetarians will have no problem getting fed. They offer a quartet of selections. The Impossible Cheese Steak includes plant-based meat, melted American cheese, mushrooms and onions. A veggie turkey edition is a combination of provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion. And yes, there is a veggie cheese steak with grilled veggie chicken and more. There are more than sandwiches here. You can get a fitting salad like the Balsamic Chicken with breast, mixed greens, gorgonzola cheese crumbles, glazed cranberry walnuts, fresh chopped basil and balsamic dressing. Chips and cookies are nice accompaniments. Another chain sandwich shop with great credentials is Jimmy John’s. I had not heard of the spot until a trip up to the Utah Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City. My wife and I were in a rush to get to a show and we needed to eat fast. We entered, ordered and had our order about two minutes later. One of their tenets is to make all orders fast and they always do. Some of the favorites are the Spicy East Coast Italian with a liberal dose of Genoa salami, double capitola and double cheese. Hot peppers, oil and vinegar, onion, lettuce, tomato and oregano basil are all included. My favorite is a Turkey Tom, a simple sandwich with meat, lettuce, tomato and mayo. You can also add Jimmy mustard which has a spicy kick to it. One of the great things about the place are the portion sizes. They not only have Little Johns which are smaller than their small sandwich, but they also feature the Gargantuan, a monster of salami, capicola, turkey, roast beef, ham and provolone. They brag about their quick delivery service and everyone I have talked to about it says it is indeed swift. Both Capriotti’s and Jimmy John’s are winners. They have locations throughout the valley. www.capriottis.com and www.jimmyjohns.com.
