The fajitas fare includes a variety of meat choices including steak, pork, chicken and shrimp available in two sizes (for one or two) or you can get the combo for two for $29.99. If you want to top things off with cheese there is a small charge as there is for a side dish of shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes. No matter what you choose, there is plenty to munch on.
There is much more going on here than fajitas. There is a large list of Mexican combinations with one, two or three items. Rancho-style tacos come with a choice of pollo asado, carne asada, carnitas or al pastor. Also tucked in is guacamole, cabbage and queso fresco. Tortillas can be ordered crispy or soft. Chile Relleno isn’t as prevalent around town as it once was but you can get it here with a lot of Monterey cheese. The menu continues with Jalisco-style plates with fideo soup and a choice of rice and beans. This version of the popular soup is heartier than some I have had at other places, but one thing remains - the small noodles that are delicate and fill up the bowl. A couple of Jalisco-style entrees include Poblano that is simmered in mole sauce and then sprinkled with sesame seeds. Al Mojo de Ajo is made with garlic and white wine sauce with sautéed onions and citrus juice. Juan’s specialties, labelled as “Mexican Favorites”, is a long slate of traditional dishes like Chile Verde with diced pork served with green chili sauce delivered with a choice of corn or flour tortillas. Mariscos Adobados is a collection of shrimp, scallops and bass filet simmered in sauce. Chile Colorado is a savory mix of diced beef cooked in red chile sauce with a choice of tortillas. Brunch is served on both Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Huevos Rancheros is made with three large eggs. A Mexican omelet features cheese and pico de gallo plus melted cheese on top. Mexican sausage and eggs are another choice. There is a large bar area at the new location where you can enjoy a libation or order food and watch the crowd. Tequila is popular and here you can order a flight that will expose you to some new flavors. The Plata collection ($20.00) includes 3 one-ounce tastes.
