The attractively-decorated location, in a small shopping center in Green Valley, is a place you could spend some time enjoying coffee and one of their freshly-baked goodies. They are proud of their bakers who start work early in the morning to make sure the items are ready.
They have two signature cinnamon rolls that you must experience. I had a tough time deciding which one I wanted but picked the classic that has a cream cheese frosting.
Not only was it enough for two I think a third person could probably sneak in a few bites without anyone getting upset. They also offer a light glaze version if you want to shed some calories, but I would forget about that. Indulge and enjoy.
Another signature sweet is the Caramel Pecan Cinnamon Roll that was featured on the Food Network show. The large treat is smothered in toasted pecans and sweet caramel sauce. By the way everything is made in-house including pie crust, vanilla pudding and fruit fillings.
If you are looking for a scone, innovation meets good taste with one of their offerings. They are enhanced with either ham, cheddar and green onion or jalapeno plus corn and jack cheese embellished with signature bacon gravy. Quiche is also made daily with a variety of ingredients. Also, on the plate are toast, jam and applesauce.
There aren’t too many bakeries in the area that make chocolate candy, but Humboldt certainly does. Humboldt Buttercrunch is a concoction invented by the owner and it has become a big hit. It is toffee based but has a light texture that is coated in dark chocolate.
You will find a great selection of lattes, mochas, cappuccinos plus fresh-brewed coffee and mimosas. The coffee is supplied by Humboldt Bay Coffee Company, delivered from California.
Depending when you visit there may be some new selections being offered. The owners are always freshening up the menu and they like to use seasonal ingredients to keep things interesting.
If you happen to be bragging about the cinnamon rolls and candy to someone who isn’t in the area they will ship their goodies anywhere in the country. Be sure to check with them to make sure temperatures have cooled down enough for safe shipping which is two day from Henderson. One of the complaints some foodies have of Henderson is that there aren’t enough family-owned eating establishments in the city. That is all changing now as restaurateurs are targeting the area because of the growing population.
Come and support Humboldt Sweets as they make some of the best cinnamon rolls in the valley.
