Dennis Bono Celebrates 26 Years

Dennis Bono has had a show in the Las Vegas area for 26 years. That’s quite a record in the entertainment capital of the world. Last month, Bono celebrated in the Showroom at South Point where he has been hosting his variety show for 16 years.

The weekly show includes an opening song from Bono who returns to center stage later to sing again. The approximately one and a half hour show features Bono’s songstress sidekick Corrie Sachs who said, “I can’t believe that it has been 26 years and I can’t thank Dennis enough for this long incredible ride. This is the longest running afternoon show in the history of Las Vegas. Because of this show, I have been given the wonderful opportunity to meet and befriend many stars that I probably would never have had the chance to meet in my lifetime! “

Bono and Sachs and the many talented performers are backed by the Bob Rozario Ensemble under the direction of Joey Singer on piano and includes Mark Barrett on drums,, Jake Langley on guitar, Bob Sachs on bass, and Mike McHugh production manager.

What a distinguished guest list Bono assembled for his anniversary show. Bucky Heard, one of the award-winning Righteous Brothers sang and original Righteous Brother Bill Medley was there to offer congratulations.

Audience members fill the 400 seat capacity theater on a regular weekly basis to enjoy the singers, comedians, and other entertainers who share thoughts and memories with Bono and as they promote their local appearances. It is one of the best bargains in town at $15 which includes a drink ticket. Fans can also enjoy Bono at The Bootlegger which is owned by him and his wife Former Lieutenant Governor Lorraine Hunt-Bono.

South Point Entertainment Director Michael Libonati sums it up well. “Over the years having the Dennise Bono show is truly special, from behind the scenes to all the guests that come every week, we are all family.”
