Corn Huskers Lotion
For as long as I can remember the little bottle with the yellow label and cap has been on grocery and drug store shelves. The bottle simply says Corn Huskers Lotion Heavy Duty Hand Treatment. I never paid it any attention and certainly never bought it.
This lotion has been around since 1919 and was developed as you might have guessed, for corn farmers. According to WebMD it is a moisturizer to treat or prevent dry, rough, scaly, itchy skin and minor skin irritations.
At different times I’ve certainly had all off those conditions. At about $5.00 a bottle, why have I never tried it?
Well, now I have and I love it! As I’ve written before I love to work outside in the yard. Between the sun and fighting to cut back Bougainvillea, I often look like I’ve been in a fight with a bobcat – and lost.
Even with sunblock, my arms get sun and between the scratches and the brown, dried out crepe skin, suffice to say, it isn’t pretty.
Enter Corn Huskers Lotion to the rescue. Introduced by my son-in-law (who uses it as he is a major outdoorsman) to this miracle lotion, I became a fan on day one!
This lotion is not greasy, absorbs really quickly, has a nice pleasant scent and makes my hands so soft. It can feel a little tacky if you use too much, but once it’s fully dry that is not an issue.
Aside from the smoothing of my skin, it helps heals the scratches too!
And if the summer has been hard on your feet, it has worked wonders on my dry heels! A quick Pedi file and a little Corn Huskers lotion at bedtime (with socks) and they are much softer. And any cracked areas healed much faster.
If you are looking for something new to try for chapped, dry skin, this might be worth picking up – even if you’re not a corn farmer!
