Childhood Friendships

Childhood Friendships

First of all, I’d like to wish you all a very Happy and blessed Holiday Season.

I thought I’d write this month about two very dear friends of mine. I’ve written about both of them in the past, but now we are all very excited that we now have a new documentary coming out!

It was produced by two wonderful men, Jay Nagle and Patrick Powell. Jay also directed it. The name of it is “Here’s Looking At You Kids”  (a little take off on the iconic Humphrey Bogart line “Here’s looking at you kid” ).

There will be a screening of it at the Winchester Cultural Arts Center on December 18th and 19th . Please see ad for address and times.

Childhood Friendships

I’m sure you’ll remember Sharon Baird who was one of the original Mouseketeers on The Mickey Mouse Club and also Mimi Gibson who played Cary Grant’s daughter in the movie House Boat. Both of their resumes are quite extensive.

In the documentary, there are many old film clips from each of our careers, along with the three of us reminiscing about memories growing up as child actresses and that we’re still friends after all these years.

In life, as I’m sure you will all attest, friendship is one of the most treasured and valued things that we have. The three of us now joke about our “old age”  but along with what goes with that, it is our friendship of over sixty years for which we are so very grateful .

We would love if you could possibly take 92 minutes out of what I’m sure will be a busy time for you during the hectic Holiday shopping days and attend the opening and allow us share some of our fondest memories with you.

DVDs of “Here’s Looking At You Kids” will also be available along with some refreshments, a meet and greet and a short Q&A. We would love to see you there!

As this year comes to a close, I’d also like to thank each and every one of you who regularly read my column. Thanks too for your many kind and wonderful e-mails  to me – and of course to publisher Dan, The Vegas Voice, and their wonderful staff who let me share my memories in this column and now on video.

Wishing each and every one of you the Happiest, Merriest,  Healthiest, Best  Holiday and New Year ever!

Until next time: Remember to always live in gratitude and dwell on what we have, rather than on what we don’t have.
