Beverly Theater to Host Our Beverly
Once boasting the catchy tagline of “so shocking it will sliver your liver!,” The Beverly Theater is showing the cult-classic, comedy horror film “Spider Baby” on Saturday, October 26. The film begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be followed by a Meet & Greet with one of the film’s stars, our own “Hollywood Memories” Vegas Voice columnist Beverly Washburn.
Tickets are $12 and will be available at thebeverlytheater.com.
About “Spider Baby”: “Spider Baby, or the Maddest Story Ever Told” is a 1967 American comedy-horror film written and directed by Jack Hill. The film features Lon Chaney Jr. as Bruno, a chauffeur who also serves as the caretaker for three orphaned siblings afflicted by “Merrye Syndrome,” a genetic disorder that causes them to regress mentally, socially, and physically from the onset of puberty.
Bruno looks out for three demented (one being our Beverly) and covers up their indiscretions. Trouble comes when greedy distant relatives and their lawyer arrive to dispossess the family of its home.
