If you enjoyed “Staying Alive” and “How Deep is Your Love” from the movie Saturday Night Fever, then The Australian Bee Gees at the Excalibur Hotel is a must see. This group is widely recognized as one of the greatest tribute acts, celebrates the multi-decade musical legacy of the Bee Gees.
They have twice been voted best tribute show in Las Vegas.
The group, formed 30 years ago, has performed more than 6,500 shows in 55 countries. Las Vegas residents and visitors have seen their more than 4,400 shows in the Thunderland Showroom since 2011!
The clothes, the moves, the style, the memorable music and songs transport you through five decades of these rock and disco legends. The high energy show traces Bee Gees music from their 1960s pop ballets to the 1970s disco era up to the early 1990s.
Their 75 minute show features state of the art graphics, films of places they performed, as well as appropriate cartoons.
The Bee Gees were formed by the three Gibb brothers. This Australian group’s three founders were Michael Clift, Wayne Hoskin and David Scott. They were careful to dress like and emulate the Gibb Brothers.
We enjoyed the talents of Frank Lakoudis (Barry), Keaton Johns (Robin), Wayne Hosking (Maurice/ Owner), Tony Richards (Bass/ Owner) and Jeff Tetrault (Drums).
The performers kept a continuous chatter with and connected with members of the audience who were treated to a wide variety of their hits. Their rendition of Grease complete with cartoon graphics was a highlight.
But the 1970s disco era music is the show’s most memorable part. These songs lead up to the shows highlight. Audience members loved becoming an invited dance party in a special area called Club Mo.
“How Can You Mend A Broken Heart?” By seeing this show at 6:00 pm nightly except Fridays. Tickets are available on the Excalibur web site
PS: If you want to keep your night going, just stay and buy a ticket for Thunder Down Under which follows the Australian Bee Gees production.
