Anthony’s Prime Steak & Seafood Still Wowing Locals with Fine Dining Greatness without Strip Pricing

Anthony’s Prime Steak & Seafood opened in 2009 when the M Resort debuted and continues to reign as one of the top steakhouses off the Strip. Named for original owner Anthony Marinelli, little has changed since PN Gaming took over, which was a wise move as the adage “don’t fix it if it’s not broken” applies here.

One thing that is unchanged is the view from the restaurant’s patio, which other than trees that have grown larger over the years, still offers primo views of the Strip, mountains and M pool. Inside are elegant, refined surroundings, with floor-to-ceiling windows, marble posts, rich wood panels and an open display kitchen that is best viewed from nearby tables and the “chef table” designed by Anthony Marinelli with seating for 14 and with no legs magically hanging from the ceiling.

One thing that does change is the menu, with seasonal additions such as the current line-up with lobster bisque with butter poached lobster and creme fraiche; vegetable tartare with cucumber, zucchini, avocado, sweet potato chips and key lime-pistachio vinaigrette; watermelon salad with baby heirloom tomatoes, watercress, aged drunken goat cheese, candied marcona almonds and white balsamic emulsion; and halibut with cauliflower puree, cucumber-melon relish, chanterelle mushrooms, passion fruit butter sauce.

Old standbys are the excellent prime cuts butchered and dry aged on property that include USDA choice prime filet, rib-eye, NY strip loin and bison tenderloin which can be enhanced with peppercorn or bearnaise sauce, foie gras, grilled shrimp, crab cake, King crab leg or lobster tail.

Non-carnivores are not left out, with roasted chicken and sustainable fresh fish flown in daily including wild King salmon, ahi tuna and pan-seared sea bass.

Desserts are made in house, and I highly recommend the carrot cake with cream cheese icing and carrot-orange sauce, as well as the gelato with 3-4 flavors offered such as pistachio, strawberry, chocolate and vanilla.

More than 300 wines complement the menu, with selections including French, Chilean, Spanish, Australian and Napa Valley wines and single estate and rare vintages.

Here you’ll find fine dining quality and top-notch service without Strip pricing. An even greater bargain is the daily happy hour served in the lounge from 5-6 p.m. with two-for-one select appetizers.
