There are times when you pass a restaurant several times and never stop in. But after a visit you are sorry you didn’t discover it earlier. Giuseppe’s Italian Grille in Henderson is one those places.
Friends suggested we give it a try and we were glad we did. Traditional Italian dishes are the norm with a quiet atmosphere and comfortable surroundings.
A wide range of starters appeal to a variety of tastes. BBQ jumbo shrimp features morsels wrapped in bacon. Fried calamari are lightly breaded and served with homemade tomato and garlic sauces. Mozzarella sticks have a crunch as they are immersed in sauce.
If you are looking for an entrée-size salad why not order the seafood edition that is chock full of Cajun shrimp, crabmeat, hard-boiled egg, tomatoes, and red onions tossed with white balsamic dressing that is topped with parmesan cheese? They also serve wedding soup along with pasta fagioli.
Chicken wings are delivered with a choice of half a dozen dipping sauces including teriyaki, garlic, BBQ and mild.
The specialty menu is filled with classics like chicken piccata with boneless chicken breast that is sauteed with capers and green onions sitting in a lemon sauce and pasta. Salmon is proudly delivered with honey chili soy sauce, baked potato and grilled veggies.
Eggplant parmigiana features melted mozzarella cheese and homemade sauce. All of the specialties come with delicious bread and olive oil.
Not only is there an impressive list of pastas but you can choose from a choice of noodles. spaghetti, linguine, penne and rigatoni are all featured along with gluten free penne, wheat linguini, or pappardelle for a couple of bucks more.
You will enjoy five cheeses in a pesto cream sauce or trio macaroni and cheese with Italian sausage, blackened chicken and roasted jalapeno.
Pizza is part of the mix with three size options. The meat lovers is just that, a collection of meatballs, pepperoni, sausage, ham and bacon. Mama C’s has roasted tomatoes, mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage and meatballs.
Flatbreads are also available with a quartet of options like California and rustic.
Breakfast is offered. Why not chow down on Giuseppe’s ultimate skillet featuring hashbrowns, sausage, applewood bacon, cheddar cheese, mozzarella, three eggs and toast?
Other morning choices include an Italian frittata with sausage, roasted peppers, onions, mushrooms, spinach and mozzarella cheese. Toasted Italian bread is served on the side.
At lunch a sandwich will tickle your fancy. A chicken parm has melted cheese and tomato sauce sitting inside a hoagie roll. An Italian beef offering includes thinly-sliced sirloin with a spicy pepper relish.
Burgers are popular like the black-n-bleu with a half-pound patty, bleu cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato and red onions. A patty melt has both American and Swiss cheese on grilled rye bread.
