I thought I’d write this month about a wonderful actress – Veronica Cartwright.
Now you may not recognize her by name, but if you “Google her” you will be amazed at her vast amount of credits.
The photo you see was taken a few months ago when we ran into each other at The Hollywood Show. I’ve mentioned that show previously in my column as it is a well-known and popular autograph show held four times a year at the Burbank Marriott Hotel.
Celebrities from movies and TV sign photos for the many wonderful fans who come, not only from across the country, but around the world. It’s always a fun show and it is so nice to meet fans who remember the various shows that all of us were in.
Running into Veronica was great. Although we never knew each other well, we have met a few times and have always loved seeing each other. Veronica is truly one of the best actresses I know.
You might also remember her younger sister, Angela, who played Danny Thomas ‘s daughter on the popular Make Room For Daddy TV show from 1957 until 1964. After that role, she played one of the von Trapp children in the famous movie The Sound of Music and was also in the TV show Lost In Space.
Veronica always managed to receive brilliant reviews for her movie performances, no matter what role she had. She appeared in “Invasion of The Body Snatchers” and Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds.” Another movie she is known for is “Alien.”
Along with her movie credits, Veronica has been nominated for three Emmy awards. Her television credits include performances on shows such as ER, The X Files, Twilight Zone, Route 66, Six Feet Under and Law and Order, just to name a few.
I am one of her biggest fans and it’s a joy to know her.
As I reflect over my seven decade career, I always smile at the thought of how blessed I have been, not only to be in the entertainment industry but to have so many fond memories and to have known and worked with so many amazing people.
And of course, I must add Veronica to my list. She is a treasure indeed.
Until next time, remember – every accomplishment starts with the decision to take the first step.
