A Decidedly Delectable Delight

Divas, Drag, & Drinks is a delightful Las Vegas production. Frank Marino, Las Vegas’ longest running headliner, brings laughter and glamour to the Virgin Hotel on Sundays during the 75 minute drag salute to women in show business.

Frank – aka Ms. Las Vegas – is famous for his Joan Rivers impression which he shares between the acts he introduces. He played Rivers for more than 20 years at the Riveria Hotel in the long-running drag show An Evening at La Cage. But wait – there’s much more.

Frank has the audience laughing at his Joan impersonation, a long-standing integral part of his “schtick”, but there are plenty of other jokes and patter which are mostly sparkling new, crisp, and on target.

Each time he is on stage to present the next act, he treats the crowd to another fabulous fashionable wardrobe change. Many may know that Bob Mackie was famous for designing many of Cher’s unique outfits through the years, but did you know he designed many of Joan’s outfits as well?

Sometimes it is hard to believe those are actually guys in costume. There’s someone from every generation as they lip-sync and portray everyone from Judy Garland and Cher to Madonna, Pink, Lizzo and Beyoncé.

Bring some single dollars – or someone there will change your larger bills for you – and have the fun of sticking those singles into the costumes or just handing them over in return for big smiles and more fun as the performers circulate through the audience. There are two male dancers in the show who are not in drag and oh how they can dance!

At the end of his show, Frank talks frankly in a no-holds barred Q & A session. Questions may range from inquiries about his dresses to details about his multiple plastic surgeries.

This is an old style Vegas show – meaning glitz and glamour. And some great graphics add to the pleasure. The show plays on select Sundays at 4 p.m.

I enjoyed Divas, Drag, & Drinks and would certainly return to see it again. PS – Free parking.
