Nevada State Senator Joyce Woodhouse gets CD award!
Nevada State Senator Joyce Woodhouse: (A Cowardly & Discourteous) gets the first annual CD AWARD from The Vegas Voice. The Nevada State Senator representing the community of Sun City MacDonald Ranch, home to the majority readership of The Vegas Voice, fails to reply to our invitation.
One of our new goals at The Vegas Voice is to present as much political information as possible to our readers. As the largest Age 50+ publication and radio program in Nevada, The Vegas Voice thought it was important to bring to you the issues and candidates in an impartial manner.
Toward this end, we seek candidates from all sides of the political spectrum. In doing so, it is NOT our mission to challenge or debate the issues; but simply have all parties present their respective views in a mature, professional and uninterrupted manner.
But what happens when a candidate fails to respond to The Vegas Voice invitation? We do not mean that “they have a conflict” or “respectfully decline” but simply ignore the REPEATED (and in-person) requests?
It strikes The Vegas Voice that such an unprofessional and obviously gutless candidate and/or politician should be exposed for such ill-mannered (non) behavior. It makes one strongly suspect that if an elected official acts this way with us, you might begin to wonder and question just how “caring” that person is to the citizens they supposedly represent.
With this in mind, our first – and hopefully last– “CD” (cowardly and discourteous) Award goes to State Senator Joyce Woodhouse. Despite offering Senator “CD” Woodhouse a chance to voice her opinions and positions on our Vegas Voice Radio Hour and in The Vegas Voice, this individual failed to even offer the courtesy of a reply.
Now this blog post is not a “call-to-action” but to simply relay an uncontested incident concerning an elected official running for re-election.
Ironically, Senator Joyce “CD” Woodhouse represents a district (Sun City MacDonald Ranch) where we just happen to mail The Vegas Voice to every resident – as well as where yours truly, my family and partners reside.
It’s really no big deal, but be assured that come election day, I will not vote for Senator “CD” Woodhouse; neither will my Amy…or my 4 sons…or my partners Cheryl and Lew…or my…well, you get the idea.
