“A Doctor’s Confession to the City of Las Vegas…”And why, despite all, I still do what I do…

Dear friend, Confessions are tough. Real tough. But, sometimes a confession can set the record straight, and I want to give credit where credit is due. Before I talk about my confession, though, let me say a few other things first. Let me start by explaining the photo in this letter. You know, when I meet people in town they usually say, “Oh, yeah, I know you, you’re Dr. Devin. I’ve seen your ad with that picture of you and the cute kids.” Well, I’m the guy in the middle.
Years ago something happened to me that changed my life forever. Let me tell you my story.
I would cry all night because of allergies at age six. My mother took me to a Chiropractor because they didn’t like giving me drugs. I don’t remember much, but I never had allergies again. And ever since I can remember, I was telling everyone I knew that I wanted to be a Chiropractor.
A most fascinating discovery. Back when I was an eager student, I was rear ended and developed a painful neck and back condition. Just to sit up from bed, I had to reach behind my head and lift up. My neck continued to “blow out” with exercise, and pain would shoot into my shoulder. I was afraid my lifelong dream was in jeopardy if my disability continued, or got worse.
I don’t want to go to a regular Chiropractor, I’m afraid to get cracked. I mean, it already hurts! After I consider surgery (the only option according to the surgeon), I decide against it.
